Flamingo Hotel- Las Vegas
Check In: A
We arrived the Wednesday before our wedding and were happy to have a day to ourselves before the craziness started. We arrived around 3pm and had to wait for about an hour and a half to get into our room. They first guy who checked us in checked us into a room with 2 double beds?! Umm hello we said we were getting married why would I want a room with 2 beds? Anyway when we got into the line to get our keys I asked "we have a king bed, right?" and that's when the new guy said no, you have 2 double beds. So he got us a room with a king bed and it was actually already cleaned and ready for us! FIL actually paid for us to have a Go Room which was so awesome! The room was amazing and the best part: it was pink and brown just like our wedding colors! FIL also paid for us to have a suite the night of our wedding, so DH went down early Saturday morning to see if we could check in early and use the suite to have the guys get ready in, they had no problem with this and we got checked in around 10!
Ceremony: A
We got married at the Garden Gazebo at 4 pm. We had 49 guests with us and everything went off without a hitch! We purchased the "Rose" package and were happy that we chose to downgrade. We originally decided to purchase the "Vegas-A-Go-Go" package but decided to use the extra money and hire Todd!
My bouquet was AMAZING! I had a mix of roses and ranunculus, all different shades of pink. The lady who married us, can't remember her name, was awesome, everyone commented on how great she was. The only complaint I have with her was right after the ceremony she tracked me down and asked where her minister fee was! I was a little put off by it. Oh well, I gave her her money and all was well.
Cashman Photography: B
We paid the fee to have Todd with us the whole time at the Flamingo, and I had Cashman shoot 2nd to Todd. I honestly don't remember ever seeing the Cashman photographer. Our photos are really just ok and there weren't very many, which is totally fine since we had Todd.
WC: Tina: A
Tina was amazing, she always got back to my emails in a timely maner and always answered all of my questions. We did have a "hicup" towards the end but, everything got resolved and my bouquet was stunning. I gave Tina a charm that I wanted to be attached to my bouquet and a string of my MIL's pearls and she made it look amazing!
Meet and Greet- Cheeseburger- Kathy- A+
Kathy was amazing during the whole planning process even after I called her at 6 am one morning! (I called her office phone, thinking it was at Cheeseburger and it was actually at her home, so just FYI!) She had a lot of great suggestions and everything went smoothly. If someone wanted to order more fries or onion rings she would come ask us first and make sure that was ok. She also made sure my father didn't get served any alcohol, when I asked her about this a couple days before she understood where I was coming from and said she would take care of it. It made me cry. She was just so nice! We had 2 servers in the private room and that was perfect, everyone was taken care! They were one of my favorite vendors and the mini burgers were so good!
Reception- Grand Lux Cafe @ The Palazzo- Rich Loska- A
Everything was awesome! The food, the service and the room is just so beautiful! Rich was a little hard to get ahold of at times, I will say he always replied to my emails, sometimes it would just take a couple days. We meet with Rich the day before to give him our favors and to go over everything and make sure everything was set. After meeting with him and hearing how many parties he has going on I see that he is a VERY BUSY man! He was really awesome though and the room was set up exactly as we discussed. We had an I-pod reception and their equipment was very easy to use. We also had a slideshow DVD of my DH and I and we played that during dinner and everyone loved it!
The food was AMAZING! We had the chicken picata, miso salmon and pasta fresca. The drinks were also so good! It was funny with 51 people I thought for sure we would hit the min. but toward the end of the night the server came out and said we were $170 away so everyone that was left ordered one last drink. Rich wasn't able to be at the reception but his assitant Karen or Karla (dang it I can't remember) was there and was also awesome! Anything we needed we asked her and she took care of us!
Cake- LV Cake Designs-A+
Dawn was also one of my favorite vendors! She was so quick to respond to emails and phone calls! I sent her a picture of what I was looking for and our cake came out awesome! All the flavors were so good! I made sure to have a bite of all 3! We had red velvet with cream cheese, chocolate with raspberry and white with strawberry! My favorite was the red velvet!
Makeup-Makeup To Remember By Veronica- A+
Veronica is freaking awesome! I called her the day we arrived in Vegas to let her know my room number for my trial the next day. She showed up and began her magic! I LOVED my makeup and felt so pretty!
The day of the wedding she showed up right on time and began applying makeup to my bridesmaids as one of my girls did my hair. My DH's grandma was in the room and was just so impressed with all of her tools and talent. And Veronica was so sweet to her and answered all of her million questions! Book her she's AWESOME!
Photographer- Bently & Wilson-Todd-A+
Todd was also awesome! He showed up right on time and started snapping away! My DH and I decided to see eachother prior to the ceeremony to get most of the pictures out of the way. So Todd found my DH, set him in place and then came and got me! After about 20 mintues of just shooting us we had all of our family meet at the waterfall at the Flamingo to start family photos. He was great and a trooper as DH's family is HUGE and he has divorced parents, step parents and step siblings. I haven't seen my photos yet but I know they will be great!
Dress- David's Bridal- B
I'll start of by saying that I use to work for DB and HATED it and swore I would never buy my dress from them, well I got laid off and found my dress online for $199. SO, I bought it! It was super simple and had no train, which was perfect since I knew I would be walking all over the strip. I had the dress within 5 days, it came super quick. For the price I can't complain.
Alterations- CH Studios- A+
I LOVED Christine! When I went to see her I HATED my dress and was seriously about to buy another one. I tried everything on for her and still hated it. Once she started pinning it and making fit to my body I started to see why I like the dress in the first place! I was lucky and only had to have 2 fittings! On the second fitting the bodice wasn't lying right on me so she took the dress and came back in 10 minutes and the bodice was perfect, she took some of the boning out and it looked 100 times better. She made me love my dress again and I'm sure my DH loves her too!
Pressing-Gigantic Cleaners-A+
Christine recommends them so I thought why not try them? And yes I had my dress pressed before I went to Vegas and yes I had to be super careful on the plane but, in Vegas I was going to be charged an arm and a leg! Anyway, I took my dress in 2 weeks before I had to leave and picked it up the Saturday before my wedding and it looked awesome! I have no complaints!
Southwest Airlines- B
I wasn't too trilled with Southwest flying out to Las Vegas, I borded the plane and asked one of the flight attendents where to put my dress, I knew the answer but, sometimes you can get luck and they will put it in their closet. Well I had to put it in an overhead bin, no big deal I put it on top of some suitcases and shut it. I also thought since the flight was going to Las Vegas they would annouce us getting married as they usually do but no such luck. Oh well the price is right and you get what you pay for.
Cake topper-Etsy seller Mudcards-A+
I ordered a custom ake topper from Etsy seller Mudcards and it was exactly what I wanted! DH loves monkeys so I had the bride and groom be monkeys. She incorporated our Vegas theme and everyone loved it! It took about 3 weeks to get and was packaged great!
Invitations- Hallmark-Carlson Craft- A
I ordered our invitaions at the Park Meadows Hallmark ( Not inside the mall) and they were perfect! I did have a little tiff with the manager Vicky at the beginning of the order process so she made Melissa in charge of our order and I was so happy! Melissa was awesome and so nice! After placing our order the invites were here within a week!
